Company Overview
Founded in 2000, ARTEMIS is a small business with a strong engineering focus, established to provide high-quality hardware to the reconnaissance and remote sensing communities. Today, we operate as a vertically integrated system house. All design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing is performed and managed on-site. Our corporate capabilities are distributed across two specialized facilities:
🏠︎ Hauppauge, New York
Our 9,000 square foot headquarters houses our core design and manufacturing operations. This location features an 800 square foot machine shop equipped with various CNC tools and a Haas CNC VF2, a 255 square foot prototype lab utilizing a LPKF ProtoMat milling machine, T-Tech Circuit Systems, a dedicated airborne assembly area, and a Dynavac Thermal Vacuum Chamber for environmental testing.

This facility serves as the operational home of our Cessna O-2A Skymaster radar test-bed aircraft, affectionately known as “Whiskey-Bravo”. Our plane is configured to carry multiple radar payloads and has flown all over the nation for various demonstrations. Utah is home to our comprehensive airborne system testing, algorithmic validation, and data processing.
Heritage
With more than two decades of experience in development, support, and production, ARTEMIS has cultivated a massive aerospace knowledge base. This maturity and experience from our airborne and spaceborne work has allowed us to deliver valuable, mission-critical reconnaissance and remote sensing capabilities that extend all the way from ground to the stratosphere and space environments. Our deep programmatic legacy includes key hardware and subsystem contributions across a premier portfolio of defense, national, and scientific platforms.
-
Airborne & Strategic Reconnaissance - We are a proud supplier of core radar hardware - including custom receivers, exciters, and upconverters - for major programs such as Global Hawk, ASARS-2A, and Airborne STand-Off Radar (ASTOR).
-
Remote Sensing Initiatives - ARTEMIS has consistently supported cutting-edge scientific imaging through key hardware roles on the NASA JPL UAVSAR and NASA JPL GLISTIN-A programs.
-
Spaceflight & Satellite Systems - Our high-reliability engineering extends into orbit, featuring successful space-grade hardware contributions to the NASA JPL Aquarius Scatterometer and the TacSat-4 satellite mission.
-
Stratospheric High Altitude Balloons (HABs) - We have pioneered persistent tactical sensing in near-space environments, achieving a long string of flight successes with our SlimSAR and SlimSDR on stratospheric balloon campaigns. ARTEMIS has flown numerous long-endurance high altitude balloon missions.

In addition to our work with major defense primes and government agencies, ARTEMIS is a dedicated partner to the academic and scientific research community. We have frequently collaborated with prominent research institutes and universities to push the boundaries of radar technology, data collection, and signal processing, including Brigham Young University (BYU), the Alaska Satellite Facility, the University of Washington Applied Physics Lab, the University of Auckland (NZ), the Simon Fraser University SAR Lab, Polar Bears International, the University of Houston, and the University of Manitoba.
